My Daughter Illiana

This is Illiana, my middle child, born Feb. 2005 in Ohio. She is one of kind, definitely has a mind of her own and I love this about her.  She is not a follower, more like a leader.  She is not afraid to speak her mind at all.  Right now this beautiful 8 year old of mine is going through a tomboy stage. At least I think it’s a stage.  She likes nothing having to do with girlie things.  Having the most beautiful hair there is she does not like it in any other way other than a ponytail.  Ribbons, bows? Forget it.  Dresses and skirts? Not even.  Anything pink?  Very rare.  She is unique in  her way and I will allow her to express herself.  All I can do as her mother is guide her and give her advice.  Like her brother she is interested in gaming, addicted to the same Minecraft game he is.   She is extremely athletic, likes football, basketball and jiu jitsu.  She was in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at one point, training several times a week.  For a young girl in a sport dominated by men she is actually pretty good at it.  Fortunately she had the opportunity to go to several competitions and won a couple of them.  At the moment I cannot afford for her to be in it, but as soon as I get my finances in order she will be right back in it.  Who knows, she could be the next MMA star.

Combining depressing thoughts with comedy and brutal honesty makes for some interesting writing. I know at least one person other than me agrees so that's good enough for me.
