20 May

Monday through Friday.  It’s become monotonous, so much so that I can do it with my eyes closed.

I wake up.  Switch off the alarm.  Turn on the lights.  Wake up my sleeping angels.

They get dressed.  I jump in the shower.  They feed our pets.  I finish getting ready.

We rush out the door.  Two stops.  School. Daycare.  Finally at work.

Same routine throughout the day.  Watching the minutes tick until the end of my shift.

I leave.  Two stops again.  School.  Daycare.  Sounds of joy fill my van.  I needed that.

Get home.  Start dinner. Help with homework.  Quality time.   Everyone showers.  Ready for bed.

The house is quiet.  Before I lay my head down I make one round to each room.  I watch my sleeping

angels.  Sweet joy fills my heart.  I kiss them goodnight.  I whisper in their ear “Mommy loves you”.

Now I sleep.  Goodnight.
